Young adult author Ken Preston brings Roll, Write, Scare! to the Sutton Coldfield Literary Arts Festival - a spooky, surprising and unique creative writing workshop where no two stories are ever the same.

Roll the dice to discover your character, setting, object and situation - then write the weird and wild tale only you could tell. Every roll is a new adventure.

Ken has been leading his Story Matrices workshops in schools across the UK for ten years.

He'll be joining us for the Literary Arts Festival on Sunday 13th September 2026, 12:45pm - 1:45pm.

The Lichfield Poets bring eighteen years of acclaimed performance poetry to the Sutton Coldfield Literary Arts Festival with All About People - a joyful, varied and human poetry presentation.

Having performed at the Lichfield Festival, Birmingham Jazz & Blues Festival, Wolverhampton Literature Festival, The Garrick Theatre and everything in between, these are poets who know how to hold a room.

Expect individual readings, duos and full group performances, all centred around the theme of people in all their wonderful, complicated forms.

Whether you're writing for yourself, your legacy or with publication in mind, Tracy will guide you through the big questions and small details that make a memoir come alive.

Tracy's own memoir Learning to Think gained critical and international acclaim. She is co-author of The Cost of Trust - the story of rogue Birmingham surgeon Ian Paterson - and is currently writer-in-residence at the Royal Institution, producing a documentary about poet Michael Rosen.
