This week at Stepping Up YMCA Sutton Coldfield we are celebrating our volunteers.

Khalid has been a great asset to our Drama group for a long time. He is always enthusiastic and is supportive to all our young people. Khalid is also the best sound guy we’ve ever had.

‘I have been volunteering at stepping up for about 11 years.
It has become a part of my life as it is like being with family.
I look forward every week to drama lessons by helping out with the music and stage lighting etc
It is amazing to see how every play develops over the months and turns into a perfect production which is then performed on stage in front of audiences.
I have seen the dedication and commitment of staff who nurture our people who we look after into confident happy personalities .
It has been a pleasure with the staffs help and dedication to involve them in volunteering at the As-Suffa Homeless outreach project which I am involved in.
They all participated with full energy and enthusiasm especially when they helped to set up for the night shelters for rough sleepers during the winter’
