** APPLICATIONS FOR OUR SCHOOL CLOTHING GRANTS ARE STILL OPEN **

The SCCT School Uniform Grant provides help towards the cost of school uniform for families who currently live in Sutton Coldfield. Children must reside in Sutton Coldfield but may be enrolled at a school outside of the area.

Applications are accepted between March and June each year, but the scheme may close earlier if the budget allocation is reached.

We were delighted to join the thousands of Sutton Coldfield residents who turned out today to enjoy Boldmere Summer Festival, organised by Boldmere Futures CIC.

SCCT helped fund this popular annual event with a grant of more than £5000 - and it was fantastic to see the community come together to enjoy music, activities, food and fun

This week is Volunteers’ Week, where we celebrate the remarkable contributions made by volunteers and voluntary organisations to our community.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Sutton Coldfield, and are at the heart of what we do here at Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust. For nearly 500 years, we’ve been supporting the charities, volunteer groups and CICs that uplift the Royal Town and its people, from leisure and education to health, religion and helping those in need.

One of our Green Ideas Grants that has already been awarded will enable secure cycling, by providing attractive planters that can also be used to lock up bikes.

The project has enabled St John's Church, Walmley to purchase two ‘Plantlocks’ which is secure bicycle parking with planters, along with compost and gravel.

The Green Ideas Grants enable organisations to apply for up to and including £1,000 for initiatives that will make a positive difference to the environment.

This could include things such as:

💡 Installing LED lighting
♻️ Creating recycling points
🔌 Setting up electric vehicle recharging stations
🍃 Making a positive difference to local green spaces
🦋 Supporting nature and wildlife.

The grants are open until 30 September 2026 and open to both new and existing applicants.

Receiving a grant from this fund will not affect an organisation’s eligibility under the Trust’s three-year rule for future funding applications. In addition, larger funding applications will still be accepted from organisations throughout the year, based on need and impact.

We are delighted to be supporting Boldmere Futures CIC with a grant of £5,000 towards the Boldmere Summer Festival, which will take place on Sunday 7th June.

It’s a wonderful event that brings our local community together, so get down to Boldmere high street on the 7th to enjoy some Summer fun!
