It’s with profound sadness that today we have been informed of the tragic passing of Brandon Grimes. Brandon attended numerous Sunderland RA meetings, he was a friend and colleague to many of our members and just a great lad and an excellent referee.

Thoughts with his family and friends at this difficult time. Rest in peace Brandon ❤️

Massive congratulations to Sunderland RA member Adam Herczeg who makes his Premier League refereeing debut this weekend when he oversees Leeds Utd vs Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Adam started refereeing in the local north east youth leagues and Gateshead Sunday league before progressing through the Wearside and Northern League and then onto the National and Football leagues. He has been a regular face in the Championship over the last couple of seasons but now has a deserved opportunity on the biggest stage of all!!

Well done Adam this appointment is richly deserved enjoy every minute!

Please join us in wishing Adam all the best.

🎥 Great to hear from our very own Kara Ward on what she took away from the recent National RA Development Day and Assistant Refereeing Masterclass.

A fantastic opportunity to learn, develop and take valuable experiences back into her refereeing journey.

Well done, Kara - great to see Sunderland RA represented! 👏⚽
