Did you know? Hydrangeas, name originating from the Greek words “hydor” (meaning water) and “angeion” (meaning vessel or jar),change colour depending on the soil Ph?

Acidic soil will often result in Hydrangea flowers turning blue, whereas alkali soil turns the flowers pink.

Do you prefer pink or blue hydrangeas?

Growing veg at home doesn’t have to be complicated, start with a few herbs and easy vegetable plants!

We have a great selection of herbs and vegetables at Sunderland Home Grown, most of which is represented in this video:

🍋 - Lemon Mint, Lemon Balm, Lemon Verbena

🍍 - Pineapple Sage, Pineapple Mint

🍎 - Apple Mint

🌿 - Morrocan Mint, Chives, Sage, Russian Sage

🥗 - Butternut, Peas, Courgettes, Tomatoes

🫑 - Sweet Tequila, Sweet Snack Orange, Sweet Marmara, Hot Orange, Armageddon (🔥)

Thanks to a generous donation from Batson Groundcare Ltd, we’ve been able to upcycle some timber into some great pieces!

We’ve got three planters, one filled with mint and thyme, one with some beautiful petunias and the final, larger one with some great strawberry plants!

The bench will remain at our Nursery, but the planters will be made available for purchase up the shop soon!
