Tonight at Kids Club we were moving at snail's pace... except when it came to crafting! 🐌🎨
Year 1’s and 2’s created some fantastic snails, each with its own unique character. A really simple craft that brought smiles all round. Well done, everyone!

This morning our Stepping Out group headed out along Roker Pier in search of the dolphins 🐬

We didn’t manage to spot any this time, which was a bit of a shame… but it didn’t take away from a lovely morning. The fresh sea air, a brisk walk along the coast, and good company made it a really enjoyable outing 🌊

We then headed back to The Box Youth & Community Project for a great lunch, freshly made by Tony and Linda — 😊

It’s National Volunteering Week and we want to take a moment to recognise and celebrate our amazing volunteers (young and not so young!) who give their time, energy, skills, and commitment to support our work every single week.

During term time alone, the Box Youth & Community Project benefits from an amazing 134 hours of volunteer support every week. When school holidays arrive and our activities increase, that figure almost doubles!

From supporting youth sessions and community activities to helping out behind the scenes, our volunteers play a vital role in everything we do. The activities, services, opportunities, and experiences we provide for children, young people, and the wider community simply would not be possible without their dedication and generosity.

Your willingness to give your time makes a real difference to our community and helps create a safe, welcoming, and positive environment where people can learn, grow, connect, and thrive.

To each and every one of our volunteers: THANK YOU Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do. ❤️

A huge well done to the Imagination Station who were successful at panel with their Stage 2 Key+ Project! It’s quite fitting that this week is National Volunteer Week and Phillipa, Layla and Evan have planned a huge celebration meal for all our young volunteers!!! They have spent so much time planning and organising how to celebrate with the team and we can’t wait to see them in action. Congratulations!

Almost 430,000 18-21 year olds with an unclaimed Child Trust Fund, worth an average of £2,000, are being urged by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) to claim their cash as part of UK Savings Week (18 to 24 September 2023).

Child Trust Funds are long-term, tax-free savings accounts and were set up for every child born between 1 September 2002 and 2 January 2011, with the government contributing an initial deposit of at least £250. Funds can be withdrawn once the account matures when the child turns 18.

Young adults and parents can search on GOV.UK to find out
