We are so pleased to be welcoming The Seashell Garden to Hylton Castle!

From this summer, they'll be running their calm, nature-based sessions for little ones at our stunning venue. Medieval ruins, beautiful grounds, a story area, a fire pit, and Hylton Dene nature reserve right on the doorstep.

We are so excited to announce that The Seashell Garden is coming to Sunderland and the setting is nothing short of magical.

From this summer, we'll be running our calm, nature-based sessions for little ones at the stunning Hylton Castle. Medieval ruins, beautiful grounds, a story area, a fire pit, and Hylton Dene nature reserve right on the doorstep.

It is everything we could have dreamed of for our Sunderland families.

This Saturday our outdoor hunt will be World Cup themed. Come and look for the images around the grounds.

Afternoon all, in the Hylton Castle tearoom this week we have cherry scones, cheese scones and chocolate chip and vanilla scones.
There are also lemon drizzle cupcakes and chocolate fudge brownie.
Why not pop in and treat yourself?

We are open Wednesday 11:30-2:30,
Thursday through to Saturday 10-4pm.

Day time tours are free for English Heritage members (please call us on weekdays to book your tickets: 0191 5373231)

- Please note: Hylton Castle is a working venue which is in use most of the week so tours and visits usually must be pre-booked unless stated otherwise.
- Tours last approximately 1 hour and we have full disabled access inside, with the exception of the outside roof which can only be accessed via a stone spiral staircase.
- Guide dogs only inside the castle.
- 56 bus and Stagecoach 3 & 13 stop outside of the castle

It was a pleasure to open our grounds for The Big Bike Ride to raise funds for the MND Association in May. A big well done to Kay, David & Darren for their fundraising efforts so far!

Good morning. We are offering walk in guided tours this morning at Hylton Castle rather than booking online. £5 per adult, £3 per child. We accept cash or card.
