💙 WHAT A PROUD DAY FOR SUNDERLAND.
This day was about so much more than a walk.
It was about hope, recovery, courage, community, and people coming together to show that change really is possible.
A huge thank you to every single person who took part in the Sunderland Recovery Coalition Walk. To those in recovery, those supporting a loved one, our Recovery Partners, volunteers, families, professionals and everyone who stood together — this day was about all of you. 👏
There is one message we hope people take away from this day:
RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE.
RECOVERY CAN HAPPEN.
AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO IT ALONE.
Behind every person walking was a story. Some stories were filled with struggle, some with loss, some with courage, and some with incredible transformation.
And that is why days like this matter.
Because sometimes, when someone is struggling, they need to see that there is another side. They need to know that people understand. They need to know that they are not judged, they are not alone, and that their future does not have to be defined by their past.
Across Sunderland, our Recovery Partners and our incredible recovery community are here — working alongside people, supporting people and believing in people.
In Sunderland we walk together and work together.
And together, we showed that recovery is real, hope is real, and no one should ever have to walk alone. 💙
