Washington golds 7-0 Swalwell juniors

After what seems like forever the lads were back in league action and got straight into the swing of things, Drake hitting a long range drive into the net after 5 minutes to take an early lead, James M slipped Alex through to make it 2-0 a few minutes later. The goals kept coming and another strong strike from Drake made it 3-0 before Alex made it 4-0 before half time.

Second half was more of the same in a dominant display, Jayden N scored a clever long range chip after James M slipped him through, Drake completed his hattrick when the keeper spilled a long range effort Drake was on hand to tap in to make it 6-0. 5 minutes from the end Ollie swung in a corner and Alex scored a spectacular header to make it 7-0. A very good all round performance from the lads to keep their good run of form going.

Washington Golds 3-1 Farringdon Rangers

The lads kept their fine form going in a very tough competitive game against a strong Farringdon side. It took the lads 15 minutes to get into their stride and when a ball was loose in the box captain James G was first to it to slot home to make it 1-0. 10 minutes later Max picked the ball up and played a perfect outside the boot through ball for Matty who beat his defender and coolly finished to make it 2. Jayden N made it 3 before the break with a brilliantly taken goal with the outside of his right foot, a classic finish.

After the break Farringdon pulled one back but the lads stood firm and created a host of chances the best falling to Drake who blazed over from close range, a great game where the lads dug deep for a very important win to keep their impressive season on track.

Washington golds 2-1 Shildon

A crazy game in awful weather, but the lads dig in deep, the game started off at a high tempo, Drake going through on goal and smashing the post. Minutes later Alex scored a perfectly good goal after some good work by James M for it to be wrongly ruled out, from then on we knew it would be an upward slope. Shildon took the lead through a free kick, however the lads kicked on, Jaden N won a penalty through some great work and James M made no mistake from the spot to go in level at half time.

Second half was dominated by the lads, attack after attack until Jayden S found himself on the edge of the box to smash home and win the game.

A great performance in very very difficult circumstances.

Washington Golds 5-0 Jarrow Crusaders

Very wet conditions today and the lads got off to a slow start, it took 25 minutes to get the first goal, a long throw from Max was latched onto by Drake who kept his solid goal scoring record going this season to slot past the keeper and make it 1-0 at half time.

Second half the lads turned the heat up, Alex closed down the keeper and the ball fell to James M who made no mistake firing into the empty net to make it 2-0. Jaden N done some good work winning the ball back high, found Matty who played it out wide to Max who fired into a low cross that Jaden N finished off to put the game beyond doubt. Joe then scored 2 fantastic goals, the first a low drive from the edge of the box to make it 4, the fifth he scored a few minutes before the end and a contender for goal of the season for sure! He skipped past 4 defenders before bending into the top corner from 25 yards! Another great win for the lads and keeping their impressive defensive record going having only conceded 2 goals in the league so far this season.

It was also great to see Max back on the pitch today having been injured during preseason!
