To mark World Refugee Day (today), let us introduce you to Olena ❤️

Olena is a Ukrainian refugee who resettled in Sunderland following the outbreak of war in her country. Since 2022, Monkwearmouth Salvation Army has been a safe space for Ukrainian families to meet, pray and connect with the local community.

After being supported by The Salvation Army’s Employment Plus team, Olena is now a Salvation Army employee herself, working as a Refugee Support Co-ordinator and Translator. Read her moving story here: https://brnw.ch/21x3vdF

Salvation Army Southwick / Austin House (SR52JX)

We also provide support in Hendon at “Back on the Map” (SR28JG).

We provide employability support to anyone who is in need.
