If you are looking for a new destination offering a light bite, parking and looking out over greenery, how about the The Lucan Tea Room ?

Set in the middle of Laleham village, this café is run by Surrey Choices. The Lucan Tea Room provides disabled and neurodivergent people with a supported workplace environment where they can develop the skills and confidence needed to move towards volunteering or paid employment.

They offer home made cakes, cooked breakfasts and light lunches at very reasonable prices. Have a read about it in this month’s Shepperton Matters (www.villagematters.co.uk) or even better, go and visit.

It’s been a perfect time for drinks by the river. Maybe you have sat on the terrace of the Red Lion enjoying river life floating by.

Our history article this month by Nick Pollard gives the history of the old hostelry and reminds us why we need to cherish our remaining pubs.

Enjoy!
