Crafternooners learn Chinese Brush painting techniques.

19 enthusiasts were issued with 6 specialist brushes, exquisite paper and instructions by tutors Wendy and Ase.
We initially experimented with the wolf hair then goat hair brushes to see different effects.

The hard copy launch of two Domestic Abuse Guidance booklets took place at a CELTIC CELEBRATION event on Saturday 28th March.

Jane Hutt's Annual Spring Breakfast:
Jane Hutt MS hosted her ANNUAL BIG SPRING BREAKFAST at CAVC's Glamorgan Suite on 12 March. Two of her guest speakers were club members Jane Salisbury and Kalpana Natarajan. The importance of the Cultural Art scene in Wales,The Vale and Barry was described by Jane who also told of the national and international exhibitions that local gallery ART CENTRAL has hosted across its 20 years.
Kalpana told guests about the coming together of her Wales Tamil Sangam group who strive to preserve cultural traditions and to also integrate. The members meet regularly and celebrate key festivals; she thanked Jane Hutt for always remembering this group and supporting their colourful joyous events.

Two Soroptimists represented our club at the Barry Town Council's International Women's Day 2026.
Speakers and a musician were truly inspiring ! The IWD quiz was appropriately focused on women.
Everyone was invited to make a meaningful PLEDGE!

The Marie Curie charity is celebrating a 40 year anniversary. 16 club members staffed the Daffodil brooch table in the Foyer of Morrisons supermarket on Monday 23 and Friday 27. We chatted to shoppers and encouraged them to wear a pretty brooch and donations followed!

4 large bags of gifts delivered to Sam Davies Ward including various makes from the crafternooners and linked knitting groups.

Jackie and staff Heather with a selection of Twiddle Muffs for Sam Davies patients.

St Barucs ward staff Hayley and Rachel receive numerous knitted items for the inpatients resident over Xmas.

Sweets and toiletries for patients are all hugely appreciated by hospital staff.
