To celebrate the centenary of Boxford Village Hall, our drama group proudly presents The Ghostlight Club — a richly atmospheric, uplifting play set in the still-raw year of 1926.
In an abandoned seaside theatre, a troupe of performers reunites to stage a play they were never able to perform, for reasons that will become clear as the story unfolds.
At its heart, The Ghostlight Club is more than a story of actors and ghosts. It is a celebration of community — of all those who have filled our hall over the past hundred years: the societies, clubs, parties, playgroups, and countless voices and footsteps that have brought it to life.
The ghostlight itself — a single lamp left glowing on an empty
stage — becomes a symbol of continuity, memory and hope.
As Dame Sybil says:“My friends — wherever you may be — you have waited patiently, and at last the curtain may rise…”
Together, we celebrate a century of community, creativity and new beginnings.
We can't think of a more perfect way to kick off our centenary celebrations and we look forward to seeing you in the audience.
