Tomorrow evening we welcome The Right Reverend Martin Seeley for the Andrew Phillips Memorial Lecture, exploring Building Trust and Trustworthiness in Public Life.

At a time when public trust feels increasingly fragile, this talk offers grounded, thoughtful insight into how confidence is built, protected, and restored, not just nationally, but here in Sudbury too.

If you care about leadership, community wellbeing, and the future of our town, this is an evening you’ll want to be part of.

Join us for a fascinating evening as local historian, author, and farmer Ashley Cooper brings to life a thousand years of independent thinking, resistance, and radical action across our region.

Inspired by the much‑loved History Evenings of the late Andrew Phillips, Ashley will explore the human stories that shaped Sudbury and Suffolk from medieval dissent to Victorian protest revealing how ordinary people stood up, spoke out, and helped define the character of our community.

We look forward to seeing you at Sudbury Arts Centre

Christmas is a time not only for music and celebration, but also for coming together as a community.

The Sudbury Society share our December gathering to remind us that friendship, heritage and shared traditions are what make this season truly special.

Join us on Thursday 18th December at 7pm (doors open 6.30pm) at Sudbury Arts Centre, St Peter’s, Market Hill for an evening of festive warmth:

Enjoy seasonal nibbles and Mulled wine, as we hear festive music from Roger Green (Organ) and Anne Chorley (Harp), a Christmas reading with a Sudbury connection by Ian Wigston, and Carols to close the evening.

Tickets on the door: £5 members £7 non‑members

Come and share the joy of the season, because when we gather together, we keep Sudbury’s story alive

Merry Christmas to all our members and friends, and all the best for 2025!
