We as a group are looking to open a Squirrel Drey.

This however cannot be done without volunteers.

Squirrels are the early years program that Scouts set up. This means that it is for young people aged 4-6. It gives them a chance to try new activities, learn about the world a bit more and helps to prepare them for school by helping them with their social skills. Squirrels looks at including songs and stories into their programmes.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in please reach out to us and we can answer any questions you may have and set you up to volunteer with us.

Today, Anna and Mark from our Cub and Scout sections took part in a bushcraft skills training day with Bush Scout UK 🌿

Being a leader isn’t just about supporting young people. It’s also about growing your own skills and experiences along the way.

If you’ve been thinking about volunteering some of your time, we’d love to welcome you to our team. Come along, learn new skills, and help inspire the next generation πŸ™Œ

Saint George is the Patron Saint of England and also the Patron Saint of all Scouts around the world. He was born in Cappadocia, part of modern-day Turkey. His emblem, a red cross on a white background, is the flag of England, and part of the British flag.

Baden-Powell once said "All Scouts should know his story. St. George was typical of what a Scout should be.

When he was faced by a difficulty or danger, however great it appeared, even in the shape of a dragon - he did not avoid it or fear it but went at it with all the power he could.

That is exactly the way a Scout should face a difficulty or danger no matter how great or how terrifying it may appear. He should go at it boldly and confidently, using every power that he can to try and overcome it, and the probability is that he will succeed."
