👣 Day 7 – Advent of Hope Campaign

Nomino is her brother's full time carer. They live in Mongolia.

Her brother lives with two stomas. Like so many families we support, they struggle to access proper supplies. At times, he was forced to use bandages and plastic, leaving his skin painful, sore and inflamed. Footprints 2 Africa reached out to Nomino and offered to send a Bag of Hope so her brother could have a dignified Christmas.

This week, Nomino contacted us to say their parcel had arrived. She told us her brother was so happy and sincerely appreciative of the kindness and generosity shown to him. The supplies, she said, will make a huge difference, lifting an enormous weight of worry from their shoulders.

Before their parcel arrived, they were simply doing their best to manage. Once the supplies reached them, Nomino fitted the stoma bags on her brother and shared that he was absolutely delighted, finally experiencing a proper fit, comfort and relief.

They also mentioned how much they enjoyed the little treats included in their Advent of Hope bag — small moments of joy that meant more than they could express.

We want to honour carers like Nomino, who quietly carry the weight of love, responsibility, and resilience every single day.

Stories like this are not rare. They are daily realities for ostomates around the world who simply don’t have access to basic supplies. One Bag of Hope can mean weeks, sometimes months of comfort, protection, and peace of mind.

This Advent, hope travelled from the UK to Mongolia, not as charity, but as dignity wrapped in care.

Dignity is feeling prepared.
Dignity is stability.
Dignity is being able to face each day including Christmas with confidence and self respect.

This Advent, every Bag of Hope represents that belief and in the days ahead, that belief will take more than one form...

Thank you for standing with us as we continue to place dignity at the centre of everything we do.

👣 Day 6 – Advent of Hope Campaign

This Advent, we’re sharing messages of hope from those whose lives have been changed through your kindness.

Heather wants to thank everyone in the UK who donates ostomy supplies to Footprints 2 Africa.
“Because of these donations, I am able to live a stress free life without constantly worrying about when or how I will get my next stoma bag. That peace of mind has changed everything for me.” - Heather’s words remind us that a single donated bag is more than a medical supply. It’s dignity and it's hope.

Thank you to every single person who donates, shares, and supports Footprints 2 Africa. You are changing lives, one precious bag at a time.

This is why we do what we do.
Supplies that were once destined for landfill are now restoring dignity, comfort and quality of life to someone who truly needs them.
None of this is possible without our incredible donors — thank you for choosing compassion over waste.

SAVF Evanna Tehuis wishes to thank you for your generous donation. We are very grateful.

👣 Day 5 – Advent of Hope Campaign
A Christmas blessing for Valma

Valma knows too well the struggles of having no supplies — the fear of smells, leaks and reusing the same stoma bag for days. This year, she doesn’t have to worry. Valma is stocked up for Christmas and ready to enjoy the season with her loved ones, all because of you. 💚

But not everyone will be in this situation. Many vulnerable ostomates will face rejection this festive season because they smell, because they have no stoma bag, because they’re doing their best with whatever they can find. Some won’t have a place at their family Christmas table.

Bless a vulnerable ostomate this year with a Bag of Hope. Your kindness can give someone dignity and a Christmas where they feel welcome and safe. 👣

Partnering for Dignity and Care

We’re proud to announce a powerful partnership that is transforming the lives of ostomates (stoma patients affected by cancer) across South Africa. Together with Footprints 2 Africa, we’re ensuring that individuals who depend on stoma bags and accessories can finally access safe, reliable supplies with dignity and confidence.

For far too long, too many ostomates have had to rely on painful makeshift solutions. But thanks to generous donors in the UK — and the extraordinary volunteers who collected, sorted, and packed every item — hope has arrived.

Footprints 2 Africa’s dedicated team has transported these life-changing supplies all the way to CANSA, where they are now ready for distribution to individuals and hospitals who need them most.

Limited stock is available through our CANSA Stoma Department in Pretoria.
If you’d like to request specific items, please email: [email protected]

Please note: while all donated stock is free, courier fees will apply for parcels needing to be sent via courier services.

Together, we’re restoring dignity, easing challenges, and making sure no ostomate has to face their journey alone.

👣 Day 4 – Advent of Hope Campaign
Because no one should have to choose between dignity and survival.

Mama A is a pensioner in Zimbabwe who underwent stoma surgery in November 2024. Like so many people living with a stoma in low resource settings, access to essential ostomy supplies has been extremely limited. Each day brought uncertainty and with it, fear.

From the UK, Mama A’s daughter searched tirelessly for support. Her search led her to Footprints 2 Africa. Since May, Footprints 2 Africa has ensured Mama A receives the ostomy care she needs to live with safety, dignity and peace of mind. Mama A wakes up each morning without the constant worry of where her next bag will come from. With that fear lifted, her confidence and mental wellbeing have begun to rebuild.

The Advent of Hope Bag has now reached Mama A in Zimbabwe, bringing reassurance that extends far beyond Christmas.

Reliable support.
Restored dignity and peace that lasts.
