💧Dirty Business: The Truth About Our Water💧
Have you seen the TV series Dirty Business? It exposes the shocking reality behind the UK water companies scandal — how big corporations extract profits while polluting our rivers and seas.
For years, water companies have paid huge dividends while sewage spills into the waterways that should belong to all of us. The result? Dying ecosystems, contaminated beaches, and communities left wondering if it’s safe to swim.
As parents, this hits especially hard. Many of us grew up splashing in rivers, paddling in the sea, and spending carefree summer days in nature. Yet today many of us hesitate before letting our children do the same — worried about sewage, pollution, and the health risks in the water.
I feel deeply sad that I don’t feel able to let my son experience the simple joy of splashing in rivers or playing in the sea on a hot day without fear of sewage contamination. Clean water should be our children’s birthright — and the birthright of all the wildlife that depends on these ecosystems.
Our rivers and seas must not be sacrificed for corporate profit.
