Dearest Friends.

We wanted to let you know that we have decided to close down Acorn Overseas Charity for Children.

After over a decade of work, we are ready to close our doors.

We have changed lives with the donations YOU have given.
We have educated hundreds of children with the donations YOU have given.
We have been in crisis zones and able to provide for those who needed it the most with donations YOU have given.

THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your support over the years!

With love, Natasha, Sarah and Jo! x

Hello everyone. We really do hope you are all well during these very difficult times.
It is during these uncertain times that we are even more grateful for all your support and we want to say a HUGE thank you to the Hanputpakdikul family and their amazing friends for donating rice, oil, essential school resources and fuel for camp generators, your support goes a long way.

Hello everyone! We hope that you are all keeping safe and well during these very difficult times.
We have been quiet on here but behind the scenes great things have been happening!
A huge thank you to Kathryn, all the teachers, students, parents and friends of Harrow International School Bangkok who donated money, clothes, books, toys and food to MLC's in Mae Sot recently.
A huge logistical task for our man on the ground Arkar but, as always he was amazing!
We can't thank you all enough for your continuing support, it really is massively appreciated.

Arkar welcomed back to Mae Sot our good friends, Komkrit Hanputpakdikul , Nopnara and Grace, last week. Thank you so much to them for bringing much needed Covid protection products, teacher's resources, rain macs, clothes and umbrellas. As always, we are extremely grateful for your support as are the schools you generously help. Arkar thank you again for all your hard work on the ground.

Hi everyone, we have been quite quiet on here during these difficult times but behind the scenes we have been doing what we can to continue supporting our friends in Mae Sot, particularly teachers and MLCs.
This post is to say a HUGE thank you to the Willis family, whom we first met when they were part of Kathryn Gavin's Harrow team who we have worked with on many projects (and hope to re-start very soon!).
The Willis family researched what was needed by teachers, and Marie Willis started a 'Teachers helping Teachers' campaign to collect items that would be of the most benefit.
They arrived in Mae Sot and, with the awesome Arkar, visited 5 schools in 2 days delivering food, clothes, Covid 19 protection essentials, treats and financial support.
Thank you so much for all your hard work and to all who donated it really is very much appreciated.
Linn Let Arkar thank you for all your hard work too!

And while we are here....A huge thank you to Leona, Orla, and Lesley Hodgson Clinical Massage & Holistic Therapy who have supported the teachers during this pandemic and kim helping families through these horrendous times.

With everything that is going on in the world we forgot to share these pictures with you all!
This was the last joint project with Jan Glasmeier Simple Architecture , many volunteers and helpers, we completed before curfews and social distancing.

We saw the need, at Farmhouse 2 MLC, for a new classroom and, after lots of drawings (from Jan and his team), discussions (made possible by Linn Let Arkar's language skills!), very generous donations from around the world and 1st class volunteers from Germany, USA, UK, Thailand, Canada and Myanmar we managed to finish the build a few days before things changed!
Huge thank you to everyone who made this possible!🙏
Next project..3 new toilets and a hand-washing basin thanks to Eleanor Gavin!
Thanks to Bill for some of the photos.

We hope you are all staying safe and well during these crazy times. It's so difficult for so many and at times can feel like it will never end! In the midst of all the uncertainty, people are still doing incredible things and thinking of others.
Thank you Eleanor for being amazing and raising funds to build 3 new toilets and a hand-wash basin at Farmhouse 2 MLC.
After a discussion with Eleanor, her mum, Kathryn Gavin, and Jan Glasmeier , it was agreed that with the money left over, Eleanor would send money every month, for a year, to buy essential hand washing soap and disinfectant to keep the children's hands and the new toilets nice and clean.
This letter shows Eleanor's commitment. Thank you Eleanor!
