We regret to inform you that the Town Council will be unable to hold the space open for musicians, families, and those looking for a town centre spot to picnic.

To enable Council staff to focus on the busy time relocating to new premises The Seatery ended for the 2024 season on Friday, 12th of July. This is a shorter season than has been customary in previous years.

The Town Council wishes to express gratitude to the musicians who have given so generously of their time and talents. Your performances created a vibrant atmosphere and fostered a sense of community spirit that is quintessentially Stroud. Your presence has created a sense of togetherness for our town centre, and for this, we are thankful.

We also extend our thanks to the Community Development Team who ran the space. They report some great memories made, with lovely intergenerational moments. A short video of highlights has been uploaded to the Town Council's social media and The Seatery's own page for attendees to enjoy and reminisce about the 2024 season.

The Seatery was begun during lockdown but is no longer urgently needed as an outdoor practice space. Despite much promotion, footfall and audience numbers have been getting ever lower, as there are now many other indoor practice spaces for the music community locally.

The council will be reviewing the project for the 2025 season, keeping in mind the invaluable contribution of our musicians to the cultural fabric of Stroud. Watch this space!

Thank you for your understanding and support.
