Make a lasting difference for dads and their families! 💙

Are you passionate about supporting fathers during the crucial first years of parenthood? Do you believe in the power of early intervention and community support?

We are hiring a Dad Matters Worker to join our team! In this role, you will play a vital part in:

Providing direct support: Offering 1:1 and group peer support to dads during pregnancy and the first two years of their child’s life.

Building connections: Helping fathers navigate the transition to parenthood, strengthening family bonds, and promoting positive mental health.

Driving outreach: Engaging with dads in community settings, hospitals, and family hubs, ensuring they feel supported and included.

Leading change: Working alongside volunteers and partner agencies to raise awareness of the importance of fathers in the family dynamic.

If you are a great communicator with a heart for helping families thrive, we’d love to hear from you.

Father's Day can be a difficult day for many dads.

Today, we're thinking especially of fathers who are separated from their children, navigating complex family circumstances, grieving a loss, or unable to spend time with their children for reasons beyond their control.

If that's you, please know that your feelings are valid.

Your journey as a dad matters, even if it looks different from what you hoped. Your love for your children matters. And your wellbeing matters too.

If today feels hard, be kind to yourself. Reach out to someone you trust, do something that supports your wellbeing, and remember that you're not alone.

From all of us at Dad Matters and Home-Start, we're thinking of you this Father's Day.

Men’s Health Week may only last seven days, but dads need support all year round.

Peer support is about staying connected, checking in on each other and creating spaces where it feels safe to say when things are hard. Asking for help is not a weakness. it’s a strength.

Dads spend so much time looking after everyone else — but your health matters too.

Small daily habits can help you feel more able to cope with the demands of family life. Taking a short breather, getting outside for a walk, moving your body, or making time to recharge can all make a difference.

Looking after yourself is not selfish. It helps you show up for yourself and your family.

What’s one small thing you can do for your wellbeing today?

Men’s Health Week is a reminder that support doesn’t always start in a formal setting.

Sometimes it starts with a quick chat at the park, a conversation at a playgroup, or a message to another dad that simply says, “How are you doing?”

Talking to someone who gets the highs and lows of fatherhood can make a real difference. This week, let’s make it normal for dads to check in, open up and listen without judgement.
