A big thank you to everyone who supported us by buying a map, but an even bigger thank you to the scarecrow makers and the shop volunteers without which none of this would be possible.

I am pleased to announce the scarecrow with the most votes this year was Bluey and Bingo John Kerry & Sons creative and entertaining display. A well deserving winner, thank you. A £100 John Lewis Voucher will be on its way to you soon!

2nd place was Minecraft
3rd place was Elmer, made by the Rainbows, which was so amazing it looked like it was part of a professional trail!

There were 3 entrants in joint 4th who definitely deserve a mention, Peter Rabbit, Andy's Dinosaurs and Ratatouille. Well done, all great displays!

Genuinely though every entry was amazing and we had so many lovely comments on the trail, that it was the best so far and many said they found it difficult to pick a favourite. We know it is a lot of work to make one but we and everyone who did the trail really appreciate it.

Prizes are being sourced this week and will be delivered as soon as possible!

One of our great interactive displays this year!

The scarecrow trail is running up to and including Sunday 2nd November so come and enjoy a morning or afternoon in Whiteshill. 42 scarecrows to find, and upgraded playground, free parking, baby change and toilets!

It is that time of year again where we start planning for the Scarecrow Trail. For those new to the village the scarecrow trail is an annual event to raise money for Whiteshill School.

It is our biggest fundraiser, last year we made £2000! For the event to work we need the support of the community. We ask people to make scarecrows themed as characters the children will recognise, e.g. from books, films or TV programmes. We then sell maps and people walk around the village spotting the scarecrows. The village is filled with visitors and the shop has a great week of trade!

I always get worried that we won't get anyone making scarecrows, so please reassure me and let me know if you would like to take part in the event. There is no cost, and there are prizes! I will add some photos from previous years for inspiration!

We will be running our annual festive raffle in December and we are on the hunt for prizes. This is one of our biggest fundraisers, please let us know if you can donate a prize, no matter how big or small.

Each business that donates will be listed on our marketing and in exchange for a prize we can distribute leaflets in children's books bags and or at our two village festival. Throughout December we will also advertise on our social media pages which are gaining a following due to the success of the scarecrow trail!
