A simple conversation can change everything ❤️‍🩹

Today marks the start of Loneliness Awareness Week (15–21 June 2026). Created by the incredible team at the , this year's campaign is all about Giving Loneliness a Voice 💬

Loneliness is a natural human emotion—it’s just our hearts reminding us that we need connection. It doesn’t look like just one type of person; it can affect remote workers, young people, new parents, or the elderly. There's absolutely no shame in feeling it, but staying silent makes it heavier.

The antidote is simple, meaningful connection. Through Timebanking, we see every day how small, mutual exchanges—like a cup of tea, an hour of gardening, or a walk together—can completely change someone's week. It reminds us that everyone, regardless of age or background, has immense value to give.

This week, let’s support the Marmalade Trust’s mission. Reach out, check in on a neighbour, or share your own story.

From prison wings to community centres, incredible things happen when people come together to share their time and skills! 🤝✨

Timebank South West is incredibly proud to have been part of the project Supported by the fund, organisations across Plymouth—led by —joined forces to create welcoming spaces where anyone could access vital IT support. 💻🌐

Working alongside , , and , our brilliant Timebank volunteers stepped up to deliver practical, peer-led digital support, helping people build confidence and stay connected.

In true Timebank fashion, this is community reciprocity in action:

✨HMP Aylesbury : Prisoners donate their volunteering hours.
✨Plymouth: Those exact hours are used to support Better Connected volunteers helping local people master digital skills 🫶
