We took this picture the other day.

Look out for the lovely moss on the trees in the woodland areas.

Moss is often a pioneer species that helps break down bare rock into new soil, paving the way for larger plants and forests to grow. They act like natural sponges, soaking up heavy rain to prevent soil erosion and storing massive amounts of carbon (especially in peat bogs). A patch of moss provides a tiny, humid home for insects, spiders, and microscopic creatures like tardigrades.
