Our cub collected soil samples, gave them a bit of water to create a mini habitats in their jars. They will be watching to see if anything grows over the rest of the term. They also came up with ideas to create conservation projects in their gardens to help local wildlife.

Our Cubs and Scouts made the most of half term with a trip to The Big Cat Sanctuary today. Where they took part in a critical conversation workshop. They learned about the importance of conservation, projects at home and abroad and negative impacts on wildlife. Followed by a tour around the sanctuary to meet some of the big and small cats that call it home.
We would like to thank our education team member Gill for a wonderful day and for inspiring our young people.

Mr Kershaw may not be part of our scouting family, but he is a valued member of our community and showed so many of our scouting values by running the TCS London Marathon a few weeks ago & raising money and awareness for National Deaf Children's Society. That our young people thought it only fitting that he should be awarded the athletics badge and a card signed by every member of our group. A huge well done and congratulations on your achievement.

A couple of weeks ago, Mr Kershaw was congratulated on his FANTASTIC efforts completing the London Marathon and raising so much money. It was a particularly special moment as he was also awarded his very first SCOUTS BADGE! 🎉

Our Cubs got crafty yesterday in preparation to celebrate a very special birthday of a very special Cub Scout. Their task was to create a portrait of the special birthday boy, using the natural world as inspiration.

Everyone at 1st Medway Towns Scout Group wish Sir David Attenborough a very happy 100th birthday. Your dedication to the natural world is insparational.
