A friendly reminder

Living in a small island community means our paths often cross, both at work and in everyday life. However, it's important that we keep a clear distinction between Development Trust business and personal time.

Our staff are not expected to work or respond to Trust matters outside their working hours, and our trustees give their time voluntarily alongside their own work, family and personal commitments.

We kindly ask that Trust business, questions or concerns are not brought to staff or trustees at their homes or during their personal time.

Instead, please use the Trust's official contact channels so that matters can be dealt with appropriately and during working hours. Staff can be contacted and can arrange to meet in the office and the office is open every Minday 9-1130.

Being part of a small community shouldn't mean being available around the clock. We appreciate everyone's understanding and respect for these boundaries, allowing our staff and volunteer trustees the same privacy and personal time as everyone else.

Good News! The Stay and Play group will be starting again at the end of the month. If you have a little one under 5, please come along and join in the fun! Many thanks to Sinead and Alison for working with the Trust to make this happen. 😊

We have had an amazing response to our Stay and Play survey within the first two days of publishing, with over 50% of the eligible group with under 5s responding - thank you! Here are a few photos from our Ceramics Make and Mend session last week. A lovely lunch, some repairs of cherished items and learning new skills - what's not to like?! Over the next few weeks we will be looking to help you repair or uplift furniture, repurpose fabric items and have some Christmas ideas up our sleeves. Watch this space!

We were recently asked to submit some information about our Community Greenhouse and have been lucky enough to be one of the first community groups to be featured on the Sufficient Orkney Food Website! Congratulations to everyone involved - it really has been a hive of activity this year! We would like to help restart the Stay and Play group here on Stronsay as there has been some keen interest shown. We would love everyone with babies and young children voice their thoughts and so we are asking anyone with children under the age of 5 to please let us know your ideas! Here is a short survey to complete - it should only take 5-10 minutes. All answers are anonymous and confidential, and will really build a good picture for us to build on and apply for funding.
