The community centre provides a range of spaces suitable for community groups, clubs, meetings, training sessions and events. https://stromnessorkney.com/about/

Located near the heart of picturesque Stromness, the Community Centre offers a warm and friendly welcome, along with a wide range of facilities and activities for you to take advantage of. The Centre provides a variety of multi-purpose rooms for hire that can cater for anything from parties to intimate meetings and larger conference groups at competitive rates. A generously proportioned games hall

provides a large variety of sporting activities for you to enjoy. We also have a pool table and a full sized snooker table (the only publicly available table in the West Mainland of Orkney). Alternatively, just drop in for a cup of coffee and light snacks.

Bookings and events continue as normal. Monday - Wednesday this week we’ll be closed due staff and volunteer availability. Open as usual 9am - 1 pm and 2pm - 5pm on Thursday and Friday 9am - 1pm.

Could passengers in the 1st class carriage please leave the train. We have one less carriage. Thank you to the ORKNEY MEN'S SHED for making Thunder the Train safe (ahead of repair/ replacement) following deterioration and vandalism. Thank you also to Graham Beck Gardening who has been working hard over the summer and will be beavering away over the winter to tame our bushes.

It feels extra special to be heading back to Stromness Community Centre because I used to teach here before Covid — so I am VERY excited to be back! 🥹❤️
