Orkney Zerowaste

Orkney Zerowaste Orkney Zerowaste is a voluntary organisation set up to reduce the amount of material and goods that go to landfill waste.

We're a reuse yard, with everything from old loos, baths and showers, to toys crafts and games. If you're having a clear out please do think of us when you're getting rid of old but useful items. Bit like a charity shop, bit like a salvage yard, we're unique. We are funded mainly by our waste collection service for commercial premises, including Jewsons and HIS. The money from this activity direct

ly supports our work. Reuse Yar open:

Sat:
11 am - 3:00 pm

A local volunteer led charity, limited funds don't stop us spreading our message. Come on by and see how we can help you and support our work locally!

We are looking for someone to quote for some work in Orkney Zerowaste yard in Stromness to improve an existing building and possibly construct a polycrub, which is a separate quote. The situation is that we are putting in a funding application for building improvement works etc. with Orkney Islands Council and we need a quote for the works by 15th February latest. If the council approve the funding then we will proceed with the works.
We hope the person could quote for both the polycrub and the Portacabin work but a quote for the portacabin work alone would be really useful

The first quote is to connect the main drainage from under a mobile caravan (which is to be removed and connect it to a portacabin next to it. Within the portacabin we would like you to construct a disabled toilet and a sink area This will require you to connect the portacabin to the drain underneath the current mobile (termed "Portable building" on the site plan with a buried pipe etc. We would also like quoting for a small disabled access ramp as per plans.

The second is to quote for constructing a 12 m by 4 m polycrub we hope to purchase.

If you are interested in helping us then I can send you a specification for the works based on the council plannng permissions and if you want to see the yard, then we are open Saturdays 11 am to 3pm or I can arrnge privately to open the yard on any day other than a monday.

Look forward to hearing from you

Best wishes
