We have exciting news! StrathPetal - Strathpeffer's annual open gardens event - is delighted to invite you to a recording of BBC Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time programme on Tuesday 20 October at 5.30pm

The celebrated panel of gardening experts, including Kathy Clugston in the chair, will be tackling questions put to them by local gardening enthusiasts - and that might include you, so bring your questions along 😃

Gardeners’ Question Time is a Radio 4 institution, attracting 2 million listeners a week.

Tickets are £3 and include a complimentary glass of w**e or soft drink.

Phew, now that we've settled our bills and gratefully received some late donations, we're moving towards a final figure raised from StrathPetal 2026 to be a little over £4,600 - a terrific achievement for a one-day event

Thank you EVERYONE.

We're making the following donations in line with our proposals, and they are:

* Strathpeffer Community Park project - £1500
* GoFlourish - horticultural/educational charity based at Munlochy - £1000
* Peffery Way - £500

We'll also be spending money on outdoor village projects - these will possibly include the fountain area; plants for east village sign area; bulb planting + assisting those clubs etc that already do their own planting (NB you might know StrathPetal funded a good weeding of the square earlier this month).

We're blessed with good expertise about what will work best in Strathpeffer so no money is wasted.

We'll also be retaining some money to get Strathpetal 2027 off on a good footing.

That's effectively a full AGM right there! 😀

StrathPetal 2026 organising team would like to thank EVERYONE - garden owners; volunteers; the stallholders; raffle prize donors; speakers; the bakers; the plant and seedling donors; the spa pavilion; local newspapers; Facebook groups; Ross-shire Flower Club; the GQT panellists; sponsors (the Mackenzie New York Villa Trust and those who have supported StrathPetal formerly), and most of all those who came along on Saturday - it's people that make an event - so THANK YOU for coming!
We'll be publishing the total raised soon + plus the charities that will benefit + a short video of the day.
Meanwhile - there are still a number of plates and tins belonging to bakers that need to be repatriated. They're at Sandra Fleming's house - White Lodge in the square, so do call in to retrieve yours! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

There's a great panel lined up for Gardeners' Question Time at Strathpeffer's great garden event on Saturday 6 June.

We've got Will Soos from world-famous garden 2 Durnamuck: Finlay Keiller from Seeds of Scotland, award-winning gardener Rosanna Clegg from Aultgowrie and Margaret Davidson from Abriachan Nursery, who explains here what you can expect from her 😂 Horticultural facts and fun in prospect.

StrathPetal runs from 10am until 4pm in the centre of the village. It's £5pp entry, under 12s free. Gardeners' Question Time starts at 2pm, and you'll find the full programme here www.strathpetal.co.uk/news
