Helping children to understand and enjoy nature is the topic of a short presentation by JJ Gladwin from the Ross-shire-based charity GoFlourish at Strathpeffer’s one-day gardening event on 6 June (at 13.15)

GoFlourish, which will be one of the beneficiaries of StrathPetal, aims to create exceptional school gardens for outdoor learning and reconnect children with nature. Data shows the benefits it can deliver in terms of their mental well-being, and equipping them with skills to support their future.

Fascinated by carnivorous plants? Why wouldn't you be?

Ingenious in their design, unusual in their preferences and absolutely beautiful to look at.

Bonby Bog Plants from Altass near Lairg, are bringing a selection to sell at StrathPetal on 6 June in Strathpeffer (10am-4pm) and they'll be selling them along with 50 years' experience in growing them.

Expect Sarracenias, Venus flytraps, Darlingtonias and Sundews.

Great talking points all year, but especially at Halloween mwahahaha!🧙‍♀️ You'll find the full programme of events here: www.strathpetal.co.uk/news

Come and learn about the life of honey bees, see them at work right in front of you (dependent on weather) and buy their delicious honey.

The value of pollinators to our existence is now well-known and bees are the sight and sound of everything we love about a summer garden.

Pollinators are the silent partner in every garden - tiny wings, huge impact.
