On Saturday evening we had vandalism in the bird hide with graffiti on the whiteboard, wildlife notices damaged, a chair thrown out into the woodland and wooden toadstools removed and placed elsewhere. Upsetting to say the least. Then our confidence in human nature was restored on Sunday when we found this super drawing of a Red Squirrel on the whiteboard. Thanks a million to the artist!

We have supplied dog poo bags over many years - at great expence- to encourage dog owners to dispose sensibly of their dog poo and respect the environment and the people who use it for recreation. However, there has undoubtedly been an increase in recent times of people abusing the area by leaving poo on paths and edges. There is a poo bin at the entrance gate. We appeal to dog owners to use it! Neither our visitors nor our volunteers should have to remove it from our paths - or our shoes! Thank you.

We had a very successful plant sale this morning raising £246.96. Thanks to all who donated and the general public is invited to take away any remaining plants over the next few weeks. Simply put a donation in the box at the gate.
Our all-age volunteers also tidied up some flower beds this morning so thanks to them too. The picture shows two of our young Wetland Watchers beside the Bhudda bed they helped tidy recently.

Yesterday we had a super family fun day at Aldouran with all ages braving cold winds to enjoy a bit of outdoor fun and appreciating what Aldouran has to offer.
Thanks to all who supported it and to our brilliant volunteers without whom we couldn’t do it.
