We had cadets from across our entire sector 3 West Mercian Wing attend Cosford Air Show at RAF Cosford. This Single day event had a variety of different stands, aircraft, industry partners and airshows for the entire day.

There was the Red Arrows, Chinook Display Team, Glider Display team, WW1 replica Dog Fights, RAF Falcons, F1 stands, RAF Motorsport, Military replica and all sorts throughout the entire day.

Safe to say our cadets enjoyed the day and met people from across the entire RAFAC and RAF Including Corps WO, AVM Townstead, Cmdr Al Lewis and OC 22 group.

Can't wait to see any further airshows throughout the rest of the year and can't wait for this again next year!

A round up to a great event last weekend. Cadets from across West Mercian Wing all completed on track and field events at RAF Cosford. These events ranged from the 100m to 1500m. And Javelin, high jump and long jump.

Overall a brilliant event and a huge thanks to Flying Officer Price for her hard work organising and running the event and a huge congratulations to Cosford Squadron for winning the overall competition.

Over last weekend we had multiple cadets from 451 attend the West Mercian Wing Athletics Competition.

We scored well with multiple of our cadets looking at Regional Athletics to go on and continue their athletic prowess.

This was a fantastic day hosted by WMW and ended with an ultimate race, a scratch relay of sector 3 against other Junior Men teams. A huge thanks to 156 and 223 for completing with us on this fun relay race and can't wait until next year!

We were lucky enough to be able to have 3 of our cadets go flying at RAF Cosford last weekend.

Three of our cadets were able to travel to 8AEF at RAF Cosford and go on their first experienced flight. this enabled them to take control of the aircraft and completed some basic aerobatic maneuvers.

This was a fantastic day out and all the cadets have now earned their new Blue Wings.

Thanks for all the staff at 8AEF who made this happen.

Last weekend Sgt Maybury and Cpl Durant were able to head up to Hereford to get in some extra climbing practice and learn how to lead climb.

This one day course delivered by Sqn Ldr Christleib is able to allow a confident climber to lead climb and lead climb belay after a day of practice. This was a fantastic day delivered by the RATTO and has helped to progress our cadets onto their next steps of climbing and improve their Dlog.

Unfortuantly there wasn't as many attendees as planned, if you want to learn how to lead climb look on SMS or cadet portal for the next activity now.

Thank you to Sqn Ldr Christleib for his delivery of the day it's much appreciated.

CWO Kehoe has aged out from the Air Cadets!!

Due to turning 20 CWO Kehoe has aged out and finished his cadet career. CWO Kehoe has been a staple of senior leadership on squadron over the past 2 years and has allowed for a large development of our NCO Team and standards.

While on squadron Kehoe has been in charge of NCO Development, Band Training and the running of the squadron. Although with recent closures making squadron harder to organise and run, Kehoe has shown a clear leadership style and determination to help deliver for the cadets even when having his medical studies during the day.

Along his cadet career he has completed national band performing at Lincoln cathedral, completed air Rifle shooting, Silver leadership and an SNCO Course alongside a variety of parades and events.

A huge thank you for CWO Kehoe for all his dedication and experience and help on squadron. We can't wait to welcome him back as a CI and see everything he can deliver as a staff member.

A fantastic parade night with 451 while we are still at Kidderminster Squadron. A lot was able to happen tonight with the assistance of APO Fish and CWO Conway. thank you!

Our new recruits were able to complete their blue leadership theory before jumping into practical exercises putting everything into practice.

Our senior cadets were able to complete their first aid assessments for the Youth First Aid Qualification that we have been delivering on squadron.

And finally a huge well done to Cpl Clements for her promotion to Sgt. A well deserved promotion and a huge addition to the NCO Team.

It's been amazing being hosted with 156 squadron currently. While training we have been with them completing a wide range of activities that we will see over the next coming days.

Last night we completed sports while Kidderminster completed MOI Assessments, classification training.

We also welcomed a new CI, our ex CWO Kehoe as a nice welcome over to the staff team.

It has been a very busy and a very disruptive start to the year. We have been able to do a lot on squadron including completing first class, bronze cyber, blue music and an open evening before temporarily relocating.

We have also had staff development including one new SAAI, RCO and 2 new Sgts to our team. Overall this has all been a fantastic start to the year and the disruption of squadron location wont stop us down.

Watch this to see what we have been up to.
