Lye Community Litter Pick -Sunday 14th June

We had a smaller turnout than usual for today’s Lye community litter pick but we still managed to clear over 13kg of rubbish from our streets! 💪✨

Every bag collected means a cleaner, safer, and greener environment for everyone. More than that, it proves that when we come together, we build a stronger community.

As Margaret Mead beautifully said: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."🗣️

We know we aren’t the only ones! Lots of amazing people across Lye do their bit to help clean up Lye. We want to celebrate you!

That is a wrap on our final session with Mango Mosaics at Lye Library today! ✨

We officially finished the community mosaic for Lye. It has been incredible seeing everyone come together, making great community connections and celebrating all things Lye! The mosaic is now heading back to the studio for Caroline Jariwala Workshop Artist to do the grouting. Keep your eyes peeled for news about the big unveil soon! 🖼️🙌

Looking for a way to get involved locally, meet new people, and make a difference? We’ve got two fantastic community events happening this weekend – and you’re warmly invited! 🙌

🎨 Saturday 30th May – Community Mosaic Workshop
Join us at Lye library to help create a beautiful community mosaic. International Mosaic Artist Caroline Jariwala of Mango Mosaics will be leading the session. No experience needed. All equipment, tea and coffee provided! Please book a place using the QR code in the flier below as spaces are limited!

What a fantastic day at Lye Library!

We had an amazing mosaic workshop today with the brilliant Mango Mosaics. Seven wonderful local people joined us to learn how to cut tiles, apply glue, and start bringing a beautiful new community artwork to life. Once finished, this stunning piece will be permanently installed right here at Lye Library!

Beyond the art, it was a beautiful day of connection. Neighbours met neighbours, discovered how much they have in common, and shared plenty of laughs. Here is what our lovely participants had to say about the experience:
