Saturday 11th July we are running our usual monthly repair café. We want to fix things and reduce landfill. Kitchen items, toys, clothes, jewelry, clocks, electronics, tools, etc.
Plus enjoy a cuppa and a cake whilst sitting with your repairer.
Second Saturday of the month, St Thomas' Church Hall, Market Street, Stourbridge, 10am-2pm.
Church car park is only for dropping off items that can't be carried from public parking areas - it is not for customer parking. On street parking is limited on Saturdays but there is some, and there's the Rye market party and display. Of course we would much prefer walking or cycling or public transport if feasible. If there are accessibility requirements, please do message us.
FAQ - The church hall is accessible to wheelchairs. We don't weld metal. We run on donations. We can't guarantee a fix. It's a turn up and wait for a suitable repairer to be free, no appointments. Everyone is a volunteer gifting their time and skills. We pack up at 2pm so get there in good time to be seen, assessed, and 🤞 repaired. Stay with your item, it's not a drop it off and collect later service. We are a friendly community and environmentally minded venture.
Sneaky info (if you've read all the info then you deserve the hot tips): last year we found the summer months quieter than usual so it's a great time to come to the repair café and avoid a long wait. The best cakes go first, so that's an incentive to arrive early. We do usually have a few people waiting outside at opening time but it's summer so maybe not. If you've something you'd like to bring along and want to check that we are expecting to have a suitably skilled repairer attending, then please message us.
