Who are we and what do we do? We make hand made items for our community. We donate nearly everything we make. We have make and distribute around 3-5k items a month for our community. Some items we ask for donations, so we can make more items for our community. Ite

ms have included:
 Almost 3000 sets of scrubs
 Scrubs bags
 Ear savers / mask extenders
 Items for acorns children’s hospice
 Items for Mary Stevens hospice
Teddies given to all admitted children to RHH, new cross hospital, city hospital, Sandwell hospital
Heart pairs to care homes, icu and schools
Dementia items to all the borough care homes
Hand sanitiser to care homes and schools around the borough through the kind donation of a local business
Face masks for the vulnerable and community groups who need them to stay safe
Items for neonatal units at RHH, City. Sandwell, Good Hope, Heartlands and new cross hospitals. Plus items for the various departments at B*H
Plus so much more. We have a wonderful FB group for those who make, so we can chat, share advice etc. We provide all the materials to make the items for our community. Including thread and occasionally needles. We value your time and expertise. So we don’t expect our makers to buy materials, unless they want to. We have hubs all around the borough with wool, kits and knitting / crochet patterns to borrow. We are making the following on an on-going basis:
Hero bears / nurse or teddies and dolls. They each get sent with a material bag. And are given to every child who is admitted. Toys - Knitted, crochet or stitched
Worry Monsters
Worry Worms
Heart Pairs
Sensory Cuffs and Mats
We then have special projects. These come as kits, pre cut with everything in you need to make a certain number of items. We are currently supporting lots of charities including Women’s Aid, Acorns Children’s Hospice, Mary Stevens Hospice plus so many more on a regular or occasional basis. There are various tutorials / patterns in the topics section of our makers group. These are the hubs locations. Cradley Heath

And lastly, in order to raise funds for all of the materials, we sell (ask for monetary donations) for some of the items make. And we are always looking for ways to get funding. Following the horrendous fire in Norton, Stourbridge, we have dropped off blankets, twiddle items and worry worms to the care home residents that were evacuated yesterday to OSH. It is a very unsettling time for dementia sufferers who do not understand why they are there. Let’s home they can return to their care home soon.
(There are no other evacuees at OSH)

Feedback from a mother visiting New Cross Hospital with her daughter.
———————————————————————-

Good evening,

My little girl picked up one of your wonderful creations today while at New Cross Hospital. I just wanted to message to say what a lovely and thoughtful gesture it is, and such a wonderful way to cheer up children who unfortunately have to make a trip to hospital. ❤️

My daughter absolutely loves the teddy and has been carrying it around in the little bag ever since!

I just wanted to say how lovely it was to receive, and how much it is genuinely appreciated. It really does make such a difficult experience a little brighter for children. 🥰

Thank you so much for the kindness and time you put into making these. ❤️

I’ve attached a few photos of my daughter enjoying her teddy. X

Another smiling face ❤️

Crafting for Communities have brought smiles once more with their wonderful donation of crafted items that benefit so many patients and their families across our Trust.

7 year old Millie was very happy to receive not one but two teddies today, and families on our Children's ward wanted us to pass on their thanks to all the crafters for bringing smiles to their kids and giving them something to cuddle.

Thank you to everyone who supports this project, you really are the best.
