VACANCY – COMMUNICATIONS & CORPORATE SUPPORT OFFICER PERMANENT – FULL TIME

SALARY £34,349 - £39,129 (Inclusive of Distance Islands Allowance) Per Annum

Hebridean Housing Partnership is looking for a motivated and well-organised Communications & Corporate Support Officer to support the delivery of our communications, engagement and corporate support functions.

This is a varied role, involving the creation of engaging digital and written content, support for media and public relations activity, coordination of corporate events, website and social media updates, and administrative support to the Executive Office.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, good organisational ability and experience in communications, public relations or corporate administration. Experience of digital communications, event organisation and working with senior teams would be an advantage.

VACANCY – TRAINEE HOUSING OFFICER – PERMANENT – FULL TIME

SALARY £30,791 – £47,467 (Inclusive of Distance Islands Allowance) Per Annum

This is a rewarding and challenging opportunity to join a team that provides a wide range of housing services to applicants, tenants and communities across Lewis. We are looking for someone with strong communication and interpersonal skills who is enthusiastic, willing to learn, and able to work sensitively and professionally when dealing with sometimes difficult or complex situations.

Working with support and guidance of experienced colleagues, the post holder will progressively develop the knowledge, skills and confidence required to deliver a responsive and person-centred housing management service. During the traineeship, they will gain practical experience across housing applications and allocations; tenancy management; rent account monitoring and arrears control; estate inspections; neighbourhood issues and antisocial behaviour; tenancy sustainment and partnership working; and identifying property, repair and safety concerns. As their competence develops, the post holder will take on increased responsibility for liaising with tenants, partner agencies, relevant teams and contractors, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to service improvement and performance reporting.

HHP 20th Anniversary 20k Grant Fund

As part of our 20th anniversary celebrations, we're delighted to launch the HHP 20th Anniversary Grant Fund.
We've set aside £20,000 to support charities, tenant and residents' groups, and voluntary organisations delivering projects that benefit HHP tenants and communities across the Outer Hebrides. The fund is available for projects that make a positive difference locally and leave a lasting impact.

Grants of up to £5,000 are available, with applications now open.

New Tenant Guidance on Awaab’s Law Now Available

From 6 October 2026, new legal protections known as Awaab’s Law will require social landlords to investigate and respond to reports of substantial damp and mould within set timescales. The new rules are designed to help ensure tenants live in safe, warm and healthy homes.

To help tenants understand their rights and what to do if they experience damp or mould in their home, the Scottish Government has produced an easy-read guide explaining the new requirements, reporting process and timescales for action. Under Awaab’s Law, landlords must inspect reported issues within 10 working days, provide a written report within 3 working days of the inspection, and begin any required repairs within 5 working days where substantial damp or mould is identified.
