Sadly, although the weather looks quite benign this morning, the forecast for this afternoon hasn't improved any overnight, with forecast models predicting gusts between 30 and 33 knots, which I'm afraid to say is the sort of weather where people get hurt and boats get broken.
So, reluctantly, we're cancelling this afternoon sailing session.
Sorry folks.

As the forecast appears to be for weather to ease later today's session looks like going ahead. Keep eyes on our pages for an update incase mother nature doesn't decide to play fair.

( Included in day membership)
All who have indicated wish to attend please remember to bring your completed forms and membership fees if not already done so.

We can supply bouyancy aids and helmets.
You will need wet suits, wetsuit boots, waterproofs or other attire suitable for Watersports.

If you do not have the above then a change of clothes and d trainers you don't mind getting wet.

Session planned for tomorrow afternoon, 15th July.

REGISTERED MEMBERS wishing to take part meet at Cuddy Point tomorrow at 2pm. REMEMBER you MUST comment here.

SAFETYBOAT CREW & Dinghy Skippers Meet at Newton Marina 1pm.
REMINDER: If you wish to join in the on water session then you must be a registered member of the club.

If you are unsure if sailing is for you but would like to "have a go" then you can apply for a day membership. (see membership tab for details)
This will let you experience sailing, with instruction and with the comfort of knowing you have experienced, friendly folks to guide you.

If, after your "have go" session, you decide sailing is for you, you can apply to become a full member of Stornoway Sailing Club.
The cost of your day membership (less session fees for that day, which covers insurance and running costs) will be deducted from your first years membership fee.

For anyone attending be AWARE. you must park at the castle car parks and walk to Cuddy Point as there will be no vehicular access from Tomorrow until after Heb Celt.

GREAT News!!! NOT Fake News!

Having Rescued our rescue boat, and subject to a trial run out in the next few days, we are excited to announce, that we are aiming to be back on the water from next weekend.
With this in mind and all being well with our sea trials, we will be running a limited sailing session on Saturday 8th July (usual proviso of the weather co-operating).
MEET at Cuddy Point at 14:00.
As this will be our first session in a while, numbers will be limited to 6-8 on the water.
If you would like to participate, you MUST submit a completed membership request form. (Yaaay!!!, coz we are now accepting memberships)
