Michael decided he wanted to raise money as his family had received support from WICCI. He made a plan to cycle from Glasgow back to his home in Stornoway, a distance of approximately 300 miles.

His intention was to cycle off road where possible or otherwise small single track back roads whilst avoiding main roads unless absolutely necessary. To add a further layer of difficultly he did this solo and unsupported on a bike that he built from the frame up. He planned to do this in 7-8 days.

The start point was Kelvingrove Art gallery and followed the “An Turas Mor” trail route (The Long Trail) with a deviation towards the end to Ullapool.

An amazing challenge and one he finished a day ahead of schedule too! He even cycled off the ferry and home to his family! He raised an incredible £3000!

Thank you so much for undertaking such a huge challenge and for supporting WICCI - we really appreciate it. 💜💚

A huge thank you and well done to Allison (Tosh) Maclean for her running the River Ness 10K in memory of her lovely mum. She raised an amazing £1025 for WICCI.

Cheering her on were her twin niece and nephew Aria and Kai. Thank you so much for your support, all the amazing fundraising efforts go directly to supporting people affected by cancer across the Western Isles. 💜💚

Come along for a relaxed afternoon for women currently going through or recently recovered from cancer or supporting a loved one who has cancer. Come for a chat, a cuppa and support.

🎶 Hebridean Harmony – Singing for Pleasure
Led by Carole Millar, this group is all about lifting spirits through song.

✏️Craft Workshop: I Can't Draw with Tom Hickman
Wednesday 24th June at 2pm
Tom believes that if you can hold a pencil you can draw. Come along to discover how to observe in detail and interpret what you see and transfer it onto paper

We had a lovely visit today from Marie Maclennan who recently celebrated her 90th birthday! (I know, we didn’t believe it either!)

She told us she has everything she needs and wants, so instead of gifts she asked for donations to WICCI. A total of £1126.00 was raised which will go directly to supporting people in the Western Isles affected by cancer. A huge thank you from us all at WICCI for your kindness and generosity.
