Stonesfield Village Hall

Stonesfield Village Hall The Village Hall is centrally located in the village, 5 miles from Woodstock. It includes a Main Hall with stage, a smaller Club Room and a spacious kitchen

Essentially it is a community hall but we do open it up for hire for all sorts of events. The Main Hall (57x30) licensed capacity can accommodate up to 200 people depending on the type of function. The Club Room is a smaller (24x22), carpeted space which could comfortably take up to 50 people. This room is connected to the kitchen which makes it ideal for children's parties or meetings. The kitche

n is well equipped with crockery, cutlery and glasses as well as a new electric range oven and hob. We have ample car parking available and the Main Hall opens up onto a grassed area which leads to the playing field and children’s play area. We do hold a license but request that functions finish by midnight in consideration of local residents. The Village Hall has a NON-SMOKING policy.

The Community Cafe will be open tomorrow at the Village Hall (Club Room) from 10.00am with fresh coffee, tea or hot chocolate and delicious homemade cakes on offer. Lunch is available from 12.00 noon (as well as cakes) in the form of soups with cheese scones and a selection of breads - all homemade.
The Repair team will be operating in the main hall. The repairers are enthusiastic and skilled, and pursue each repair as a challenge to their ingenuity and expertise. Bring along anything that needs fixing and ideally arrive before 12.30 to be sure to be seen.
Everyone is welcome, whether you are bringing and waiting for a repair, catching up with friends, need a warm space to sit for a while, out for a walk and would welcome a pit stop, or have been to the library (and want to quietly get stuck in to a new book).

Don’t miss Stella Gibbons’ brilliantly funny portrayal of English rural life in the 1930s: Cold Comfort Farm dramatised by Paul Doust.

Recently orphaned socialite, Flora Poste, arrives at Cold Comfort Farm, the home of her gloomy and eccentric cousins, the Starkadders, keen to discover her rights, hinted at by her cousin Judith. Instead she finds a web of thwarted passions and obsession, at the centre of which sits Ada Doom… who saw something nasty in the woodshed!

Performances will take place at the Village Hall on November 13th, 14th and 15th at 7.30pm.
