Stonehouse Jubilee Club Stonehouse Jubilee Club offers a social setting for people with dementia, and their carer. Music, quizzes, outings and a "listening ear" for carers.

The SJC was founded in March 2012 and is a unique meeting place for people with Alzheimers and other forms of dementia, and their carers. We meet on Thursday afternoons from 1.30 - 3.30 in the Lifestyles Centre, Stonehouse where we have fun quizzes designed to aid memory, music and singalongs, activities, outings, regular live musicians and a lot of laughs. The majority of our volunteers have experience of caring for a loved one with a dementia and are happy to offer a "listening ear" to carers.

A great afternoon at the Ceilidh with everyone on the dance floor. 🎶 Thank you to the Tartan Tenor for calling the dances and keeping the dancers moving in time.

Thank you also to Jeanette at Country Bakes for making and delivering our yummy goodies 😋 Also, thank you to all the volunteers for serving up the food and clearing up.

Arrive after 1pm and before 1.30pm
Raffle tickets will be on sale as you arrive along with the donation bucket 🪣
We hope to have you bouncing on your bunions at 1.45pm 🎶
There will be a break at 2.15pm for a buffet 🥪🥟🧁☕️
Raffle will be drawn
Dancing will resume just after 2.45pm
Ceilidh will finish at 3.30pm🎶❤️🎶

A huge ❤️THANK YOU❤️ goes to Hamilton Caledonian Bowling Club following their recent Ladies Charity Afternoon Tea when we were chosen by their Lady President, Elizabeth Gordon to receive their donation of £420!!

Last Thursday Elizabeth and Caroline Mallon, in her capacity as Lady Treasurer, visited the club to present the donation which we will ensure goes to good use. ❤️

Today the Club was delighted to welcome Nicola Ferguson. Nicola is a Paracise instructor leading people through various routines to fabulous music. The founder of this low impact exercise is Sarah Goldsack who was a full-time fitness instructor for over 25 years. Sarah's life changed dramatically after being diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. She set up Paracise to help others benefit from an exercise programme that is effective, accessible,affordable and enjoyable. Nicola runs these classes locally providing exercise which is ideal for those who suffer from a wide range of health conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia and bad backs among others. It is low impact , low intensity with no requirement to get down on the floor. A fun way to stretch, get moving and improve balance. Members joined in with gusto either standing, using or sitting in a chair. Well done everyone 🥰
