π Volunteers' Week π
This week, we were delighted to welcome 12 pharmacy students from Keele University, who chose to spend their time supporting our charity and learning more about the work we do.
Throughout the week, the students embraced every opportunity to get involved, bringing enthusiasm, fresh ideas and a willingness to learn. They have spent time gaining a greater understanding of CPR, public access defibrillators and the important role communities play in improving survival from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
All of the students have left having completed a Defibrillator Awareness course, equipping them with valuable knowledge and confidence that they can take forward into both their future careers and everyday lives.
Alongside this, they have rolled up their sleeves and supported a variety of behind-the-scenes tasks, helping to keep the cogs turning and allowing our team to continue delivering vital work across our communities.
As future healthcare professionals, they understand the importance of helping others, but what has stood out most has been their willingness to step beyond the classroom, get involved and make a meaningful contribution.
Volunteers' Week is about recognising the people who give their time to make a difference, and we are incredibly grateful to these students for choosing to spend part of their journey with us.
We hope they leave with new experiences, lasting memories and a deeper understanding of the impact that community action can have in saving lives.
Thank you for being part of our team this week and for helping us create safer communities. π
