The British Improv Project The B.I.P. runs two weekend-long retreats per year (Spring & Autumn), offering top quality & affordable improv training to the people of Britain.

The British Improv Project began life as the somewhat wordy "UK Improv Co-Op Retreat Weekends". The first event was the brain-child of Geoff Monk, and was held in November 2015 at a Youth Hostel in Edale. 32 improvisers from across the midlands, Sheffield, and Totnes came to attend workshops, perform, and meet each other. The event was sufficiently successful to merit another, and Tom Young agreed

to help Geoff organise this. The second event saw 51 improvisers gather the following Spring at Hothorpe Hall in Leicestershire, with attendees coming from all over the UK, and further a field (New York & Berlin!). Now with some momentum behind them, Geoff & Tom were able to think further ahead, and subsequent events took place in Stourport and Stone. In need of a more formal name, "The British Improv Project" was settled upon, and Geoff & Tom are now looking at ways to expand both the weekends, and the overall ambition of the organisation, in order to make improvisation a thriving force in Britain's nationwide performance community.

Due to sickness We have one spare place for a day delegate residential weekend in the Coventry and Warwick area.. if you live within easy driving distance of Scarman conference centre please message me if you want this place . It’s this weekend, and I just wanted to take a moment—yes, I know I hardly ever post!—to say a huge THANK YOU to all our brilliant BIP members. You’re the ones who keep this thing alive and growing, purely through turning up, spreading the word, and keeping the energy high.

Our regular spring and autumn retreats have been selling out very quickly for the past few years. To meet the demand and to celebrate our 10th year of BIP, we're doing an extra one in 2025.

* Around 8 hours of workshops and jams.
* Two evenings of improv performances in a tiered seating space

Total price £280 payable in four instalments
