Stone Scouts are looking for new volunteers

A number of volunteer roles have just opened up with Stone Scouts, supporting young people across Stone through adventure, skills and community activities.

Roles currently available include group leadership, training support, treasurer duties and help with websites and social media. Some are hands on with young people, others are more behind the scenes, all make a real difference locally.

You don’t need to have been a Scout before, just some time to give and an interest in supporting local young people.

Happy New Year! 🥳

The turn of a new year is often the time that we make resolutions and set goals for the next year. Ours is to continue providing amazing opportunities for local young people to help them grow and learn real world

But we need YOU to help us make this happen! We’re looking for adult volunteers for our Cub and Scout sections so we can do more adventurous activities and camps.

So if you value fun and friendship, and want an excuse to not do the really annoying adult-y tasks that await you between drop off and pick up, DM us today!

You may have heard that our Scout Hut was broken into on Sunday evening. I won't lie, this was a shock. In all my time in Scouting I've never heard of this happening here despite its location and how it looks. The pictures don't do justice to the amount of mess - what you can't see is that those involved emptied every single cleaning product, food item, and sauce bottle all over the floor and our Cub and Scout flags, and the smell was horrendous. Not to mention the broken glass that seemed to be everywhere.

Thanks to our dedicated leaders and volunteers, the Hut is now back in a clean, useable state for our groups to meet, although we need new windows and a couple of new internal doors to make it completely secure.

I must give a special shout out to our Explorer Scouts who gave up their Monday evening to help start the clean up with our Cub leader and did so much that by the end of the night the Hut was almost back to normal.

Thank you to all our parents and local residents for their well wishes and offers of support at this time. If anyone knows anything about commercial heating systems, I'd love to hear from you!

Children at Westbridge Park now have a safe haven nearby thanks to The Swan Inn, which is offering immediate help and a welcoming space for anyone feeling unsafe or threatened.
