🚨 DEPUTY LORD MAYOR ISSUES STATEMENT AFTER HANLEY EVENT 🚨
Stoke-on-Trent’s Deputy Lord Mayor, Cllr Chris Robinson, has issued a statement after being pictured attending an event in Hanley.

Cllr Robinson says he attended in his official capacity as Deputy Lord Mayor after being told the event, organised by a local gym, was being held to help homeless people.

He says he “had no idea” the event was connected to the Staffordshire Patriots group and added that he would not have attended had he known.

In his statement, Cllr Robinson said:

“The Stoke-on-Trent I am proud to represent is a welcoming, tolerant city with no place for division or hatred.”

The statement comes following photographs of his attendance at the event being shared.

💬 What do you make of the Deputy Lord Mayor’s statement?
