Here’s an important chance for Stoke-on-Trent children to have their voices heard at the highest level – please read on and encourage them to share their views.

Children’s Commissioner Dame Rachel De Souza has launched a survey called The Big Future that she will present to the Government.

She wants to know what it’s like to be a child today, the changes they want to see in their communities, their biggest concerns, and hopes for the future.

Her aim is to talk to a million children and establish what a good childhood looks and feels like today – in the eyes of young people themselves.

The deadline for young people to have their say is fast approaching – it's October 23rd.

The organisers say:

Our next Monday Moves is on Monday 5th October, 7–9pm at The Bank, Market Square, Stafford, and will then take place every two weeks.

Upcoming dates:

Monday 5th October

Monday 19th October

Monday 2nd November (Halloween Theme)

Monday 16th November

Monday 30th November

The evening is centred around music, dancing and socialising, rather than structured activities or games. We play modern chart music, take requests and give people the opportunity to meet others and enjoy a fun evening in a friendly, informal environment.

£5 per person – carers and support staff attend free.

Monday Moves is not a drop-off service. Anyone attending from a residential or supported-living setting must be accompanied and supported by their usual staff/carers, who remain responsible for them throughout the evening.
