A great morning working on the Stepped Up programme. Today we spent time developing stories for inclusion in two forthcoming training events to be held in Stoke in November.

Dave’s Story - Recently released from prison to no fixed accommodation, what does it really take to comply with license conditions and what does it cost?

Charlotte’s Story - “You call it ‘transition’ - I call it my life”. What do care experienced people really need in young adulthood and how might we support them?

Great too to have Hayley Harmon from Underground Lights Community Theatre join the Rideout team for this project!

Further to our Big Give Arts for Impact fundraiser earlier this year to support our work with Expert Citizens we have now started Stepped Up - a series of workshops with people with lived experience of multiple disadvantage to help build their confidence and skills in co-facilitating drama-based and other creative approaches to training professionals in adult social care.

Today we did a mapping exercise considering all interactions with people in any kind of professional role that group members had experienced in the last month. Determined by place, and defined by the quality of interaction, we are using this as a way to draw out possible themes for exploring further in training events taking place in November.

Really powerful conversations and observations about the experience of going through first tier tribunals, the growing digital divide, and what it means for residents when supported accommodation goes through a management re-tendering process.
