Support means standing alongside you through difficult moments.

Over the past few weeks, Concrete’s Phoenix team has continued advocating for and supporting LGBTQ+ customers through incredibly challenging situations.

This has included helping one customer challenge barriers around accessing gender identity healthcare, while also supporting another vulnerable customer experiencing a mental health crisis and financial difficulties while waiting for disability benefit support.

At Phoenix, we know everyone’s journey is different, and we’re here to help you feel supported, listened to and not alone 🌈

Your voice helps shape Phoenix 🌈

Recently, customers supported by Concrete’s Phoenix service came together with the team to share ideas for future activities, trips and support sessions within the service.

The session gave customers the chance to speak openly about what they’d like to see more of, helping shape how Phoenix continues supporting LGBTQ+ people experiencing homelessness moving forward 💛

At Phoenix, we want you to feel listened to, involved and empowered in the support you receive.

We're proud to share that SPHERE has been Highly Commended at the 2026 Homeless Link Excellence Awards 🏆

SPHERE supports people experiencing homelessness and addiction to find a home and get the support they need to move forward.

Because homelessness doesn't define you. Recovery is possible. A safe place to sleep changes everything.

This recognition belongs to our customers, our team and our partners at Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Stoke CDAS, who show up every day to help people take that next step.

We're not giving up. Not until homelessness is history across Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding areas.

A home can change everything 🏡

At Concrete, we don’t just help you find somewhere to live, we work alongside you to help you move forward, rebuild stability and create the future you want for yourself and your family 💛

Our new Move-On Team is already making a huge difference, supporting customers moving on from supported accommodation into safe, affordable homes that truly meet their needs.

Recently, the team supported a mum affected by domestic abuse to secure a safe home and reunite with her children, helping the family begin rebuilding their lives together again.

From helping you understand housing options and access financial support, to sourcing furniture and preparing for independent living, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Happy Stoke Day! 🏠

Last year, many of our customers joined thousands of local people for the Big Centenary Tea Party, helping celebrate 100 years of Stoke-on-Trent.

The event brought together more than 15,000 people from communities across the city to share stories, make memories and enjoy a cuppa together.

To mark Stoke Day, a special free exhibition is taking place at Stoke Minster today and tomorrow, showcasing photos, videos and audio from this incredible moment in our city's history.

📍 Stoke Minster
📅 Friday 5 June and Saturday 6 June
🎟️ Free entry

If you were there, why not take a trip down memory lane and see if you can spot yourself in the exhibition?

To our incredible Peer Mentors, thank you 🤝

This Volunteers' Week, we brought together volunteers from across Honeycomb Group for a special thank you event at The Quarter. For Concrete, it was all about celebrating our Peer Mentors.

Our Peer Mentors aren't volunteers because they've read about homelessness in a book or heard about it on the news. They're volunteers because they've lived it.

They know what it's like to feel lost, isolated or unsure where to turn next. They've faced challenges, overcome barriers and come out the other side. That's what makes their support so powerful.

Every day, they use their experiences to help people living in our supported accommodation. They build trust, offer encouragement and show customers that they're talking to someone who genuinely gets it.

When someone is struggling to engage with support, a Peer Mentor can often reach them in a way nobody else can. They help people take that first step, then the next one, and the one after that.

At Concrete, we're working to make homelessness history. We know we can't do that alone.

To our Peer Mentors: thank you for sharing your stories, your time and your belief that things can get better. You prove every day that homelessness doesn't define a person and that a brighter future is possible.

We're proud to have you on the team 💚
