💚 MEET VICKIE – OUR FUNDRAISING CRAFTS LEAD! 🎨✨

Behind every successful craft fundraiser is someone making sure all those creative ideas come to life — and that someone is Vickie! 🥰

Vickie has played such a HUGE part in making our recent fundraiser a success, bringing together her little team of busy crafters and helping create some amazing handmade goodies along the way. 🧶✂️🎨

From dreamcatchers to all the other wonderful creations, our Friday craft sessions have been full of creativity, teamwork and plenty of laughs! 💚

Thanks to all their hard work, our craft fayre raised an amazing £250 for our fundraising pot! 🥳👏

A massive thank you, Vickie, and to your brilliant team of crafters. You’re helping turn creativity into something that makes a real difference! 💚

And of course, a HUGE thank you to everyone who came along, supported us and helped make the day such a success! 🥰 Your support really does mean so much to us. 💚

🎉 A huge thank you to Hanley Economic Building Society for awarding Number 11 the Hanley at Home Grant for the third time! 🎉

The £5,000 grant will help fund staff time and resources for our workshops and group discussions, covering topics including Mindfulness, Understanding Anxiety, and Developing a Growth Mindset.

These sessions help our clients build emotional resilience, improve confidence and self-esteem, and develop a greater sense of control over their lives.

These are all things that Hanley Economic Society are passionate about and we’re incredibly grateful that they continue to recognise and support the work we do.

Thank you for helping Number 11 support people to live the life they want to live, well. 💙

💙 We recently visited Number 11 to learn more about the fantastic work they do supporting adults across Stoke-on-Trent.

We're proud to have awarded the charity £5,000 from our Hanley at Home Fund, helping them continue delivering wellbeing workshops, discussion groups, and practical life skills sessions that support people to build confidence, resilience, and independence.

It was inspiring to hear about the positive difference they're making within our local community.

How beautiful are these framed quilling designs, lovingly created by our talented members? 💜✨

This was a two-part craft session that tied in with our self-esteem workshop. Looking back, it could just as easily have been linked to mindfulness, as everyone was completely immersed in the activity. It was wonderful to see our members so focused, relaxed, and enjoying the creative process.

The finished pieces are absolutely stunning, and we're so proud of what everyone achieved. Well done to all of our amazing members! 👏💜🌸🌼

🌟Meet the Volunteer – Val!🌟

This week we're celebrating our wonderful volunteer cook, Val! 💚👩‍🍳

Val fills Number 11 with the delicious smell of home-cooked meals, preparing tasty food for our lovely clients with one very important ingredient… **love!** ❤️🍲

Her favourite part of volunteering is feeling appreciated and being part of such an amazing team. It's volunteers like Val who help make Number 11 such a warm, welcoming place for everyone. 🫶💚

When she's not busy in the kitchen, you'll often find Val making TikToks with her grandson, Boo! 📱😂 She's also our very own **Karaoke Queen** and is always ready to grab the microphone! 🎤👑

We were delighted to welcome members of the team from Brown Recycling Ltd, who kindly presented Number 11 with a generous donation of £1,000 as part of their Centenary Monthly Giving Programme.

It was a pleasure to share more about the work we do and the difference that support like this makes to the lives of those we serve. We look forward to developing our partnership in the future as we continue Building Hope, Restoring Lives together.

This incredible donation will fund 75 activity sessions over a six-month period, enabling 50 people to take part in a range of activities including crafts, team-building exercises, sports, and games. These sessions help reduce isolation, support mental wellbeing, build resilience, encourage new experiences, and create meaningful connections for people struggling with their mental health.

A huge thank you to everyone at Brown Recycling Ltd for your generosity, encouragement, and commitment to supporting local communities. 💙

Number 11 is number four on our list of charities to receive financial backing as part of this year's Brown Recycling Charity Fund donations. Our cheque for £1,000 was handed over by Co-Managing Directors, Dominique and Mitch Brown to Rob Stanway and Collette Cooper from the charity.

Number 11 is based in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, and provides 1:1 support for people battling a wide range of issues, from loneliness, anxiety, physical and mental health and unemployment. Their vision of ‘Building hope, restoring lives’ sets people on a path to independence through a tailored programme of counselling, interactive workshops and activities.

Our £1000 donation will resource 75 activity sessions for 50 people to attend over a 6-month period. These sessions will include craft, team building, sports and games and will support isolated people struggling with their mental health, to make connections, support resilience and try something new.

🌟 Meet the Volunteer – Megan 🌟
This week we're introducing the wonderful Megan, one of our dedicated volunteer counsellors at Number 11. 💚
Megan's role focuses on counselling and supporting people to better understand themselves, helping them feel seen, valued, and important while encouraging positive change in their lives.
When asked what she loves most about volunteering, Megan shared something truly special:
"I often think the job of a counsellor is to help beautiful people see that they are beautiful and become even more beautiful – never to fix, always to help people understand themselves deeply." 💚
Outside of volunteering, Megan loves running, reading, journalling, going to the gym, and taking long walks with her adorable dog, Chester 🐶. She's also passionate about mental health and volunteers with both Shout and The Mix.
🧀 Favourite snack: Cheese crackers
🏃 Fun fact: Megan has already completed a half marathon and hopes to take on a full marathon one day!
