We are proud to partner with other charities, advocacy partners and community projects. Our relationship with our local schools brings us such wonderful benefits. This morning we were joined by a new class from Kemball school. They joined us for juice and toast then came to see the bread and butter thing in operation. Thank you to our wonderful team of Volunteers the kids worked along side them to count and fluff the bags ready for service. We look forward to having over 40 children join us from Sutherland Road primary school, to talk about community and get hands on with our projects next week. Community it at the hear of what we do and who we are here to support.

🥶 HELP TO MAKE YOUR HOME MORE ENERGY EFFICIENT - FOR FREE 🥶

Today I called into Community Lounge at The Hive, Blurton for a quick cuppa and to say hello to everyone and I got talking to a lady from a charity called Groundwork - Green Doctor.

Groundwork’s Green Doctor service offers free, impartial energy advice and practical support to help residents save money and stay warm.

They visit you at home and provide advice and help with simple things such as what light bulbs are the most efficient to use to bigger things like helping you access grants to upgrade elements of your home to keep it more efficient.

I was really intrigued by the services they offer and wanted to share this more widely. I know of at least 2 local people who today arranged their free home visit.

It’s free and they come to you… what’s the worst that could happen? You end up with cheaper bills and a more efficient home?
