A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR FIRE WALKERS!

We want to give a special thank you to everyone who stepped forward and took part in our Fire Walk at The Glost House

From our current residents and former residents to our dedicated team members, families, friends, members of the public and supporters of Walk Ministries, you were all absolutely amazing! 👏❤️

It takes courage to walk across hot coals, and seeing so many of you take on the challenge was fantastic!

What we loved most was the mix of people taking part. Different backgrounds, different journeys, but all coming together to support something we believe in.

That’s the Walk family, and that’s what makes it so special! ❤️

A massive thank you also to everyone who sponsored our walkers and helped make the event possible.

We hope you’re all feeling very proud of yourselves, because we certainly are!

WHAT AN AMAZING NIGHT AT THE GLOST HOUSE!

What an incredible evening!

It was absolutely amazing to see over 25 brave people walking across burning hot coals, all coming together to support such an incredible cause!

The atmosphere, the laughter, the courage and, most importantly, the sense of community were just something special!

Tonight was about so much more than walking on fire. It was about hope, courage, transformation and people coming together to make a difference.

And what makes it even more special?

This year we celebrate 10 YEARS of Walk Ministries!

10 years of changing lives, restoring hope, creating opportunities and believing that everyone deserves another chance.

I’m incredibly proud of everyone involved and so grateful to every single person who came along, took part, donated or supported us.

As we approach Prisons Week, we’ve been spending some time in nature and reflecting on something we can all too easily take for granted, our freedom.

The freedom to walk outside, breathe fresh air, spend time with people we care about and make our own choices.

At Walk, we work with people who understand what losing that freedom really means. We also see the power of second chances and what can happen when someone is given the opportunity to rebuild their life.

Today we’re simply feeling grateful, for freedom, for hope and for the chance of a new beginning.

Our past doesn’t have to define our future.

This year, Walk Ministries is celebrating 10 years, as a charity, of supporting men to rebuild their lives and we’re marking the occasion with something a little different…

🔥 THE WALK MINISTRIES 10TH ANNIVERSARY FIRE WALK! 🔥
We’re looking for brave volunteers to step up, take on the challenge and quite literally walk over hot coals for Walk.
Every person taking part will be helping us raise vital funds so that Walk can continue providing accommodation, support, stability and opportunity to men who are leaving prison, at risk of offending or facing some of the toughest periods of their lives.

❤️ Can’t make it on the night? You can still be part of it.
You don’t have to walk across the coals to support Walk. You can donate or sponsor our Fire Walk fundraisers online, and every contribution will help us continue the work we’ve been doing for the past 10 years.

This year marks 10 years since Walk Ministries officially became a registered charity, and what
better way to celebrate than by stepping into the heat? 🔥 👣

To mark this incredible milestone, we're holding a 10th Anniversary Firewalk Fundraiser, bringing
together our staff, residents, supporters, friends and members of our community to take on the
challenge of walking barefoot across hot coals!

Every step will help us raise vital funds towards activities that support mental wellbeing, creating
opportunities for people to connect, build confidence, and look after their wellbeing.

Whether you're brave enough to take on the firewalk yourself or simply want to support someone
taking part, we'd love you to be part of this special celebration.

Walk Ministries is growing, and we’re looking for a brilliant Finance & Tenancy Officer to join our team in Stoke-on-Trent.

This is a full-time role for someone who loves getting the numbers right, keeping things organised and, importantly, understands that good financial management helps us make a bigger difference in people’s lives.

You’ll be working across both finance and tenancy management, including:

•⁠ ⁠Managing day-to-day financial transactions using Sage 50
•⁠ ⁠Bank reconciliations, month-end and management reporting
•⁠ ⁠Supporting budgets, forecasts, funding applications and annual accounts
•⁠ ⁠Monitoring Housing Benefit, rent and service charge income
•⁠ ⁠Working with residents, local authorities and our support teams
•⁠ ⁠Identifying financial risks and helping us continually improve our systems and processes

But we’re looking for more than somebody who can simply do the numbers.

We want someone who is organised, dependable, proactive and genuinely wants their work to have purpose.
