CEO Update

At our last Trustee Meeting, there was a real sense of encouragement about where Walk Ministries is today and where we are heading.

The discussions focused on the future of the charity, strengthening our services, supporting our staff, developing new opportunities and ensuring we continue to provide the highest level of support to the people we serve.

One thing that stood out throughout the meeting was the recognition of the impact being made every day across Walk.

Every day, men arrive at Walk looking for hope, stability and a chance to rebuild their lives. Every day, our team walks alongside them, helping them overcome addiction, move forward from homelessness, reconnect with family, find purpose and build a better future.

Whilst good governance, strong finances and effective systems are important, they are simply the foundations that allow us to fulfil our mission. The heart of Walk has always been people.

As we approach our 10-year anniversary as a registered charity, I am incredibly proud of what has been achieved by our staff, volunteers, trustees, supporters and residents.

Together, we have seen lives transformed, families restored and futures rewritten.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Walk Ministries and the work we do across Stoke-on-Trent and beyond.

The future is bright, and we look forward to continuing this journey together.

Last night we hosted our first ever Walk Chess Championship πŸ†
Hear what our resident Jordan, who organized the event, has to say about how important nights like these are.
And congratulations to our champion, the underdog, Mister Joshua!! β™ŸοΈ

55.35km. 1,236m of climbing. 8:03:19 on the clock.

"This journey has never really been about running.

It's about proving to myself that change is possible.

The same person who only 9 months ago was smoking crack, drinking himself to death and living utter chaos has just completed a 55.35km ultra marathon in the Peak District. πŸ’₯πŸ«‘β›°οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜πŸ˜ŠπŸŒž

It's not talent or luck.

It's faith, discipline, consistency and the relentless application of a growth mindset coupled with a rock solid refusal to go back to the life I left behind.

Today I became an ultra marathon finisher and somehow, I feel like I'm only just getting started."

"When I was homeless, fractured skull and couldn’t even articulate a sentence I wanted to get out of my head. We reached out to WALK as well as about 10 other places. Local council, rehabs, homeless shelters, all sorts.
WALK answered. And I genuinely believe God brought me here! I just don’t know why yet. I need to be more grateful! Thankyou WALK, thank you God! ❀️"

A positive week for Walk Ministries as we received a clean 2024–2025 audit outcome.

Proud of our amazing staff team, leadership, volunteers, and trustees who continue to work hard every day to support people, strengthen communities, and carry the vision of Walk forward.

Growth always brings responsibility, but I’m grateful for the heart, resilience, and commitment shown across the organisation.

Thank you to everyone involved β€” your work truly matters.
