💔 An Important Update About Stoke-on-Trent Baby Bank
It is with very heavy hearts that we need to share that Stoke-on-Trent Baby Bank has now closed.
This has been an incredibly difficult decision for us all, Kirsty, our trustees and our team. In 2025, we have tried very hard to build a sustainable service in Stoke as well as the High Peak, but due to limited capacity and not being able to grow a big enough local Stoke volunteer team, we are sadly no longer able to continue operating in this area in a way that is safe and sustainable.
This decision has not been taken lightly. We know how much need there is, and it has been a privilege to support families in Stoke. We are truly sorry that we are no longer able to offer this service.
We would like to say a very heartfelt thank you to John and the team at Emmaus, and to Emma and the team at Newcastle-under-Lyme Children’s Centre, for their incredible generosity in providing us with space to operate from. Without their support, we would not have been able to serve the number of families that we did in Stoke, and we are hugely grateful for everything they have done to help us try to build this service.
We want to make sure families can still access support, and we would encourage anyone who needs help to contact the following organisations, who may be able to assist:
⭐Step Up Stoke
⭐Port Vale Foundation at the Bescura Family Hub
⭐Local Family Hubs and Health Visitors
⭐Citizens Advice Stoke-on-Trent
To everyone who has donated, volunteered, referred families, or used the service in Stoke — thank you. Your support and trust has meant more than we can say.
This is not goodbye to Stoke forever, but for now, we need to focus our limited resources where we can be most sustainabile which is in the High Peak.
With love and gratitude,
High Peak Baby Bank 💙
