🖤🤍 Port Vale Supporters Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Vale captain Doug Loft.
Doug made 174 appearances for Port Vale, proudly wearing the iconic number 7 shirt and leading the club with distinction as captain. He will be forever remembered as the skipper who captained the Valiants to promotion in 2013, a season that holds a special place in the hearts of all Vale supporters.
A wholehearted midfielder, Doug embodied the passion, commitment and determination that Port Vale fans admire. His leadership on and off the pitch, together with the pride he showed in wearing the black and white shirt, made him a respected teammate and a favourite amongst the Vale faithful.
On behalf of everyone at Port Vale Supporters Club, we extend our sincere condolences to Doug's family, friends, former teammates and all who knew him. Our thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time.
Rest in peace, Lofty . A true Valiant, our captain, our number 7. Forever remembered.🖤🤍 Forever a Valiant

This Sunday, we have the privilege of celebrating the career of a true Port Vale legend, Tom Pope, at his Retirement Match.

Tom gave everything every time he pulled on the famous black and white shirt. His passion, commitment and love for Port Vale made him more than just a goalscorer, he became one of our own and a player who will always hold a special place in the hearts of Vale supporters.

The weather is going to be good so please get down to Kidsgrove Athletic this Sunday (2:00pm kick-off) as we come together to thank Popey for the memories, the goals, the passion and the pride. Let’s give him the farewell he truly deserves.

Once a Valiant, always a Valiant. ⚫️⚪️
